LMC’s ongoing collaboration with Center for Rural Strategies has helped to establish the organization as a national thought leader in rural policy and an advocate for rural Americans. One of our earliest messaging and media relations efforts enabled the Center to engineer a halt to a national network’s plans to launch a reality TV show lampooning poor white rural Americans. The resulting coverage was harsh and eventually persuaded CBS chief executive Les Moonves to cancel the show before it ever aired.
